Few days left to say goodbye to 2017…
It has been such a surprising year… I will remember it as a very busy one, full of satisfaction and achievements. There have been some disappointments too, but, hey, I really can’t complain!
Because, like it or not, it’s a word of images rather than words, I thought to sum up my 2017 in a couple of pictures: an infographic and a collage.
This one sums up the whole year in figures…
Quite a bunch of images, uh?
I love photo editing and I think I’ve really improved my skills this year, especially thanks to all the amazing photographers – “old” and new – that I’ve been working with.
In the following image, I put together some of my photographs taken for the project One year in colours, portraiting my other half in all the trips we had together this year! (He was very patient, I have to say).
Probably, the most exciting part of 2017 it’s been being one of the component of the Mother Tongues team, a no-profit organisation whose aims is to raise awareness of the benefits and challenges associated with bilingualism (read more about it here).

I had the opportunity to meet an extraordinary bunch of people and to push myself to improve on a professional point of view and to enrich my days with the brilliant madness of great co-workers (especially the director Francesca La Morgia), which is a luxury that freelances hardly ever experience.
Even though this one just ending has been the busiest year ever – working wise – I managed to keep studying.
I have been learning a couple of languages more… HTML and CSS!
Right, you cannot use them to talk to people, but you do use them to communicate with computers, so we can definitely call them languages. And a third one, JavaScript, is right around the corner. I actually had the honour of being awarded a Google scholarship to study the Udacity Front-End Development curse. Awesome!
2017 ends with 4 days off (no way!) and 2018 will start slow (hopefully) so I’ll have the time to catch up with all the ongoing projects, some new ones and, above all, refresh my own website!
Stay tuned and happy New Year!
Love your recap of 2017 and what a year it was ! And the photo collage of Victor is very special.
All the best for 2018 and hope there will be some films or theatre outings we can share .
Love always,
Joan.
